Medical Data Integration Center Ruhr University Bochum (MeDIZ.RUB)

The Medical Data Integration Center at the Ruhr University Bochum (MeDIZ.RUB) is a central interface for the integration and use of medical data in research. As part of the Medical Research Services (MRS.RUB), we network the University Medicine Bochum with national and international initiatives such as the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII) and the Network University Medicine (NUM).

It is our task to make collected data gathered during clinical care at RUB University Hospital (UK RUB) available for medical research in compliance with data protection regulations. This data makes a decisive contribution to better understanding diseases, developing innovative therapies and improving patient care.

As part of the MII, funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR), we are working to advance personalized medicine using digital technologies. Our infrastructure makes it possible to incorporate clinical care data into research in a targeted manner and thus achieve progress in diagnosis and treatment.

Data protection is a top priority for us. All research projects that access the data undergo strict checks and are bound by clear data protection regulations.

Further information on using the services of MeDIZ.RUB and how to apply can be found on our information for researchers page.
