Medical student council
Welcome to the website of the Medical Student Council at Ruhr University Bochum!
As the student council, we are your elected representatives and are committed to the interests and concerns of all medical students at RUB. Our task is to guide you through your studies, support you with questions and problems and actively help shape campus life.
Who we are
The Medical Student Council (FSR Medicine) is a team of committed and passionate students from various semesters who volunteer their time to support and represent all medical students at Ruhr University Bochum.
We serve as your voice within the faculty, organize diverse events, and work continuously to make studying medicine more enjoyable, inclusive, and successful.
What we do
- Academic Support: Need help with your course schedule, choosing electives, or preparing for exams? We offer peer-to-peer advice and guidance to help you navigate your studies with confidence.
- Events & Networking: From orientation week (Ersti-Woche) and academic talks to social gatherings and parties – we create opportunities to connect, learn, and celebrate university life.
- Student Representation: Your concerns matter. We advocate for your interests in university committees and work to improve study conditions and student life for everyone in the medical faculty.
- Support in difficult situations: Struggling with exam stress, personal challenges, or issues in your studies? We’re here for you – confidential, approachable, and ready to help.

Just talk to us or attend one of our weekly meetings – held every Monday at 5:00 PM during the lecture period in Seminar Room 3 (SR 3).
