Cell sorting
The Core Facility has a high-speed cell sorter that was funded through a major equipment grant from the German Research Foundation (DFG). This device has been in use at the Center for Clinical Research since early 2019. The high-speed cell sorter is a MoFlo Astrios EQ from Beckman Coulter. The sorter is used exclusively by the facility’s staff.
Existing instrument configuration
- 405-nm laser (violet) for excitation of common markers such as DAPI, Cascade Blue, or AmCyan
- 488-nm laser (blue) for versatile standard fluorochromes such as FITC, PE, and PerCP-based dyes
- 561-nm laser (yellow) for highly efficient excitation of PE and red fluorochromes (e.g., Tomato, DsRed)
- 633-nm laser (red) for widely used markers such as APC and Alexa Fluor 700
Our range of sorting options
- Up to six sorting fractions from a single sample
- Single-cell and bulk sorting into tubes, plates, or onto slides
- Up to 40,000 cells per second under biosafety level 2 (BSL-2) containment
