60 years of Ruhr-Universität - that's something to celebrate! And who better to create the right atmosphere than the students themselves? That's why the student body invites you to the big stall market on the Nordforum on June 18, 2025 from 2 p.m. - open, colorful and above all: really lively. The Chancellor and Rector will open the festival at 4 p.m. with beer and sausages. The Sustainability Office invites you to its new space on campus, and the pop choir from the Music Center sings under the motto: “We're moving into peace!” from 7.30 pm in the Audimax. An exhibition on 60 years of university history rounds off the program. It will open at 6 p.m. in the foyer of the administration building and will then be on display for all to see until the end of 2025. The media are cordially invited.
Student councils, initiatives and university political lists will be present at the Nordforum to show what they are up to: whether information on current projects, creative hands-on activities, games, discussions or simply nice conversations - there is student commitment behind every stand. The AStA's Gaming Hub will be open extra long for the anniversary. The AStA itself will of course also be there - with its own information and drinks stand. There will be currywurst, free drinks and slush ice. DJs Tobishka and InfinityL∞p will provide the soundtrack to the day in front of the Repair Café.
Mini rally in the sustainability office
The Sustainability Office will be opening its new space in the former Sparda Bank at 2 p.m. on the occasion of the celebration. From then on, it will be used regularly for activities organized by the Sustainability Office. On June 18, there will be prizes to be won at the Sustainable Development Goals wheel of fortune. The Sustainability Office is also organizing a mini scavenger hunt.
The party will be officially opened at 4 p.m. with the Rector and Chancellor - with a sausage barbecue and beer on tap.
Concert for peace
In the evening from 7.30 pm, the Music Center invites you to a concert by the pop choir in the Audimax under the motto “Wir zieh'n in den Frieden!”. 80 years after the end of the Second World War, war is once again seen as a real political necessity and the free and democratic basic order seems to be under threat from within and without. The pop choir sings songs and texts for peace and against war. But the musical fantasy of a different, better world is also the common thread of an evening from Udo Lindenberg to John Lennon, from Pink to Jacob Collier.
